Imagine that every single one of your emotions cares for you. This happens to be true, and each emotion has something it's trying to tell you. I work from a lens that believes that emotions are there for our benefit - yes, even the difficult ones. Sometimes, through difficult experiences, our beliefs about our emotions get in our way and we might not even realize it. It is my desire to hold a compassionate, safe space for you to examine your own unique experience and unpack what it could look like for you heal and grow. Let's explore the world of emotions together on a journey of self-discovery!

I view each individual from a family systems perspective and my theoretical orientation is influenced by Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) as well as Satir.

Education

 

I am currently completing my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at ACTS Seminaries through Trinity Western University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity Western University and a Diploma in Professional Counselling from Pacific Life Bible College. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have ten years of experience working in the helping field including residential care work and community support work. Currently, I volunteer with the crisis line and work as a bus driver for HandyDart.

A Little Bit About Me

 

I am very passionate about music. I like to sing, dance and play guitar, bass, piano and cello. There is something about music that reaches into the soul and connects us to the deepest parts of ourselves. I'm also an avid gamer. I enjoy a good board game, card game, PC game or console game. I enjoy anything music-related, co-op games, strategy games, RPG's, and party games. I love animals and Studio Ghibli movies. My favorite is "When Marnie Was There".
