Meet Gabrielle

At some point in our lives most of us encounter times of crisis, fear, anger, sadness or grief.  These situations may arise from life circumstances or challenges in relationships and they may develop from sudden changes to long standing complex struggles.

You may find yourself responding to these situations or relationships in a repetitive manner which leaves you feeling frustrated, tired and exhausted.  I invite you to experience change in a positive new direction, whether you want to make better sense of your situation or move along an entirely new course.

On a personal note, I am married for over 30 years and together with my husband have raised two children.  I have a gentle and compassionate counselling style which helps you feel supported in a non-judgemental space.  I am honored to meet you wherever you are at and be part of your journey of healing and growth.

Framework

I provide individual counselling, premarital counselling and couples therapy for adult clients.  My primary areas of focus include recovery from anxiety, panic attacks, burnout, depression, trauma, boundary issues and partner betrayal through infidelity.

To support couples, I utilize Emotion Focused Couple Therapy and the Gottman Method.

My framework incorporates a number of modalities including attachment theory, family systems theory, somatic based therapy, trauma informed approach and emotion focused therapy.  I also utilize mindfulness practice to help you gain a sense of self awareness and an understanding of your body’s reaction to stressors.  Whatever your current needs may be, we can work together to determine the best approach for you.

In addition, an important part of recovery is to understand your family of origin and the impact family dynamics have had on your life. This can increase your understanding of how you feel about yourself and your relationships.
